The front porch is filled to the ceiling with boxes and crap. / JANUARY / Jason: An ambulance came to the house across the street today. / Athena: ANOTHER one? / FEBRUARY / Jason: Y'know that really, REALLY old drunk guy who rides his bike around so slowly, he keeps almost falling over? / Athena: Yes. / Jason: He lives across the street too. / MARCH / Athena: So now the houses to the left AND right of Horror House are both for sale? / Jason: Yes! You should see how awkward the realtors get when they bring buyers around. Are we calling it Horror House now? / APRIL / Jason: Shirtless Guy and Bearded Guy got into a BIG fight on the sidewalk yesterday. / MAY / Jason: They sit out there ALL DAY LONG! Just hiding under the pine trees with booze and lawn chairs, catcalling every woman that walks by. / Athena: ... / JUNE / Athena: So, while I was reading out here? The really old guy came out, said, "Who wants to go for a ride?" then sat in the driver's seat of their car, turned the engine on, turned the lights on and off..and then he got out of the car and went back inside! / Jason: They all LOVE to sit in that car, but I have NEVER seen it leave the driveway. / Athena: Did you hear what Horror House said when we got on our bikes today? / Jason: Ho. / Athena: "HE'S riding alone. SHE'S staying with us." / Jason: Ew... / Jason: This morning when Jessica looked out her window, Shirtless Guy was standing on our porch. / Athena: !!! / Jason: Horror House had another big fight last week. One of the guys was standing out front, yelling and gesturing at everyone under the pine trees. / Jason: He was holding a bottle of vodka, and suddenly, he just started CHUGGING it, like it was WATER. Shirtless Guy came out, and they started fighting each other. / Jason: Then suddenly they started HUGGING, and it looked like they were about to kiss each other. They they started wrestling. But like, in drunken slow motion.

A Year On July 16, 2010, we ate Thai food, drank beer, talked forever, watched Rear Window, and kissed. / Jason and I went to see Bill Callahan at the Cedar a couple weeks ago. / Bill Callahan: when all you want to do is be the fire part of fire / Shortly after we began dating, Jason made me two mix CDs and mailed them to me. Only he didn't yet know my home address, so he addressed them to Blue Monday, where my bosses delivered them to me. / Callahan's "Too Many Birds" was on one CD. / It's been a full year now, since I met that boy and started liking him so much. Sometimes I can still barely listen to those mix CDs, I'm just that overwhelmed by what a good thing he is. / Bonnie Prince Billy: like so many robins, like so many doves / I got lucky. Luckier than I thought a person could get. / Athena: holy crap can you COOK! / It just works really, really well with Jason. So easy and so GOOD. And hot just because we share so many of the same silly interests. / Athena and Jason: noir, beer, making out, food, maps, comics, minneapolis, stories, cowboys, westerns, alone time, being cheap, the midwest / I can't think of a way to conclude this that's not sappy, so I'll just go with, "time flies when you're having fun.

Sundeep and Megan Got Hitched The Marriage (Twice Over) of Megan & Sundeep. Thursday, June 16-Sunday June 19, 2011. #weddinginjune / A few weeks ago, I had the excellent fortune of being present for the biggest, most incredible wedding I will probably ever attend. / Sundeep is one of Jason's closest college buddies; Megan is the lady Sundeep's been in love with since age 15. / [[Bride, Groom, Groomsman, Plus One]] / They met at a Catholic high school. Megan's family is Catholic... / ...Sundeep's family is not. / The four days of celebrating managed to encompass both families' traditions to the Nth degree. / [[WEDDINGSPLOSION]] / It was pretty fucking awesome. / To to get the sexy wedding destination, Rockford, IL, Jason and I spent one night alone in his parents' house in Hudson... / [[action figures, action figures still in boxes, COMICS]] / Athena: ha ha ha ha ha / ...and the next night in Madison! Negative Athena: So this new coffee shop job is not quite the answer to my problems I'd hoped it would be. / Athena: It's more like... / A 40 minute bus ride to Uptown. / For a 3 hour shift. / Which ends sometime after midnight. Some Good Things Some Good Things. Saturday, September 24, 2011 / Went back to Northfield for another doctor's appointment. It's not mono or anything scary, just a really persistent sinus infection. / Doctor: Didn't you have a film they showed at the Walker? / Athena: Uh, yeah! / Woke up and didn't know where Traveler was. I asked, / Athena: Dixie, where's Traveler? / ...and Dixie led me right to him!! / Athena: SO CUTE! / Mom was very patient with me while I freaked out about job stuff. / I rode back up to the cities with her at 6:00 the next morning. / [[Time & Fuel Efficient!]] / When I got back to my place, I was able to get some more sleep. / In the afternoon, Jason and Angie and I met at Jason's place to go to a wedding. / Jason: We all look like young Republicans. / Angie: Yeah, but trendy ones. / The wedding was in Stillwater, and it was great. / Bride: You're my person. / It felt nice to sleep at Jason's for the first time in a week. He has a way of helping to plant me in the present. He calms me down. / Now I'm sitting at Zinefest, contented and full of coffee. / Athena: It's okay.
