/ Tipko: It came as something of a shock to me too, but we have to act quickly and make sure it stops right now, today, not just be shocked.
/ Rowan: I don't understand. What are you going to do? If it's that pervasive... Oh my god. / Rowan: Keeda...
/ Keeda: No. I was a baby when I was sold.
/ Rowan: Okay, that's good - god, now I'm thinking about Ebbet, she's in the English class, she's not gray, she's brown, she looks like she's an Easter candy, my god... / Rowan: And Kyte, and Beka, and - I have to stop listing colored pagets I've met, I'll go out of my mind. Why does being gray or not matter anyway? / Tipko: Gray ones are more common and cheaper - that's why magicians buy us and you didn't meet any before - and therefore farmers try less enthusiastically to breed gray ones on purposes. You're not a magician, you're a witch because you only use one type of magical energy! / Rowan: I've been overdoing it with the magic questions?
/ Tipko: Oh, just a *bit*. Did I guess right or is it something else?
/ Rowan: It's not about magic actually. I want to go back to Dat?kaln.
/ Tipko: After what happened last time?! / Rowan: Ebbet knows where her daughter was sold.
/ It was only a few weeks ago. She's virtually guaranteed to still be there. And it was to a civilian buyer, not a magician.
/ Ebbet drew me a map. I can portal right there.
/ I'll go in transformed, juiced up, and with a bead out. I'll bolt if I spot a magician or any other beads. We'll go in, get Ebbet's daughter, and get out. Five, ten minutes. Ebbet's coming along so her daughter won't be scared by me or the bead, and she knows more than enough English to translate if I need to communicate with anyone and my Eegamal's not good enough. I told Ebbet about what happened with A'at and she said that I have her permission to forget about bringing her back with me if I have to run, she's that sure there won't be any trouble. / Rowan: But I decided not to go unless you think I should. Since that would be dumb. / Tipko: *sigh*...
