Page 1 - There Was a Time Before - Native Comic Voiceover (text set on parchment): There was a time before... / Voiceover (speech bubble): Aww, mom! You tell this one *all* the time!
Page 2 - Bedtime Stories - Native Comic Little boy (sitting up in bed and knocking his covers back): Can't wear hear one with monsters or pirates or something instead? / Little girl (now also getting up from bed in protest): But it's my favorite, mommy! / Mom (speaking to the little boy): Tam, it's your sister's turn to pick the story. You know the rules. / Mom (tucking Tam back into bed as the little girl settles back down happily): Now, where was I? Oh, yes...
Page 3 - Whispers of Sky - Native Comic Mom (Voiceover): / The Time Before. / Before we lived in the sky, the planet was closed shut, keeping us safely inside while we developed. Hot steam taught us how to fly, and the rock taught us to be strong. / This was the way of things. / Our society continued to expand, like a living geode, growing inward to fill the egg. / But the wisest men heard whispers of stars and sky, and they dreamed of endless space. / With their knowledge of alchemy and technology, they held the key to bring our people forth from the darkness. / The five wise men, on the day they became Gods, summoned the spirit of our planet, promising to make her strong in exchange for her power.
Page 4 - All She Had - Native Comic Mom (voiceover): And the planet gave them all she had. / [Crackling energy fills the page, blue and white daggers of lightning against a reddish black background.]
Page 5 - All She Had, pt II - Native Comic [No text. Five figures surround a glowing green orb, the crackling energy continuing to emanate from it, filling the air all around them.]

Page 6 - The Power They Sought - Native Comic Mom (voiceover): The Five received the power they sought, but it was too much for everyone else. The Wise Ones were alone. / [The planet has been blown to smithereens. The five, radiating power so much that their bodies glow a nuclear green, float around the core of the planet, surrounded by chunks of the crust, and open space and stars. Barely visible at this scale, bodies of the planet's inhabitants float in the emptiness.] / Mom (booping young girl on the nose): And they never much cared for each other's company anyway!
Page 7 - Lindent Vein - Native Comic Mom (voiceover): So Lindent Vein created a race of people, drawing their essence from water droplets. / [A four-armed man gathers water from the space around him and channels it into the raw form of a small figure floating before him. The man's eyes are wrapped with cloth, and each hand has only three digits.] / Mom (voiceover): The Vein people are beautiful and graceful, intelligent and gifted in the arts. Like their creator, they are blind, with extra arms to give them a tactile sight.
Page 8 - Onaya Bone - Native Comic [[A woman with iridescent hair that looks like feathers holds out her hands, upon which sits a figure. She gently blows off the excess sand from her 'sculpture']] / Mom (Voiceover): / Onaya Bone, the wisest of all women, recreated creatures for the deserts, and made her own race of people to care for them in her image, with their sharp features and athletic build. / She gave them the strength and adaptability of the sands she had made them from, with the cleverness and iridescent hair of her favorite of creations, the raven.
