Escape Phrase 60 H: Thank you, my children. Would it be better if I told you I was just testing you? / Jimothy: Who ARE you? What have you DONE with TSAMANTHA'S MOTHER? / H: Oh, dear boy, who do you THINK I am? I'm YOUR mother, too. You kids are SPECIAL PEOPLE.
Escape Phrase 61 [[Jimothy is leaving class.]] / Jimothy: Hey, you! / Tsamantha: Hey yourself! How's the new teacher? / Jimothy: He looks like Dr Quickly! And his name is Dr Lichtenstein and I am SUSPICIOUS of him! / Jimothy: See? / Tsamantha: Not really... the way he's drawn it's hard to tell. / Jimothy: That's not you doing that?
Escape Phrase 62 [[Dinnertable conversation...] / Jimothy: Why do you even have to ask? Can't you use your, uh, universe-spanning superpow... / Tsamantha: She's still my MOM, Jim. / Persephone: It's okay, you've had a ROUGH TIME of it lately. Tsam actually managed to COMPLETELY obliterate my powers. I'm just a lady now. The question STILL STANDS, though: HOW WAS SCHOOL? / [[Jimothy recites the previous comic.]] / Persephone: Oh yeah? I bet that REALLY IS L.
Escape Phrase 63 [[Dinner continues, with the exact same art.]] / Jimothy: If it IS L what can we do about it? About him? Doesn't he have, uh, TERRIBLE POWERS OF LAW? / Tsamantha: Oh yeah, What does "H" mean? / Persephone: Uh, it's kind of embarassing. You know, "Classical transgendered deity". Q and OO were lucky to not have stupid names like that. Q is short for "Quickly" for some reason. But that's not here, and it's not there. Tell me about him again, this supposed apparition of the demon L... / [[Jimothy says the last two comics.]] / Persephone: Hmm. Did you ever check out Q's hide-out?
Escape Phrase 64 Jimothy: Stupid bricks. Can't you just use your power to find what we're looking for? It was boring enuogh waiting for that cop to go on break, but now we're just poking around in rubble with nothing to show for it! / Tsamantha: It's not... it doesn't work like that. Or... I'm still not sure what the power even is. It's like I can change everything around us but only while keeping everything... the same shape? Or I can find the real shape of something and draw it out. It's a really intuitive process, a really subconcious sort of action... I'll give it a shot though I guess.

Escape Phrase 65 Jimothy: Are you doing this? It's kind of painful. / Tsamantha: No! Are you kidding? I hate this... way things look. / Jimothy: It must be something about Q's secret lair causing an ELDRITCH INTERFERENCE! Probably why the cops were keeping people away. / Jimothy: What do you think happened to him, anyway? Is he lying in wait? / Tsamantha: Maybe he's transformed into someone else like H did. Or into someone he already was or whatever it was I did to my mom.
Escape Phrase 66 [[Jimothy and Tsamantha are still poking around the ruins of their teacher's house.]] / Tsamantha: Oh this is just ridiculous! / Jimothy: Ghhh! My head! / Tsamantha: Hang on, it clears up over this way... / Jimothy: What... what is this thing? / Tsamantha: Be careful! Hasty touching's never smart! / Jimothy: Is this that... the fourth wall? Oh weird! / [[The page splits and rips at Jimothy's touch.]]
Escape Phrase 67 [[Jim's fingers are sticking to the edge of the panel.]] / Jimothy: Is this that... the fourth wall? Oh weird! / Tsamantha: Be careful! Hasty touching's never smart! / Jimothy: This... this stuff... / Jimothy: I've seen this before! / [[The panels have become small and sparse.]] / Tsamantha: When... when you rescued me! / Jimothy: Yeah.
First Birthday Party [[Jimothy is getting my attention in a rough way, at a party. Dr Quickly and Rabid look on.]]
Escape Phrase 68 [[Jimothy and Tsamantha are standing outside on a street.]] / Jimothy: Hey Tsam, check out this freaky thing I learned how to do with my awesome and inexplicable powers! / [[Jimothy drags a panel from page 3 or 4 or something into the page, the one where Thomis is saying "Hey nothing, here comes the prof."]] / Tsamantha: Is that... an IMAGE from the PAST?! / Jimothy: I know! It's freaky! ... Useless, but freaky!

Escape Phrase 69 Jimothy: The space separating the audience from the action of a theatrical performance, traditionally conceived of as an imaginary wall completing the enclosure of the stage, quoth the internet. / Tsamantha: Huh. / Jimothy: But when I look on the other side of the wall, there's just blank... blank paper. So he must mean something else by that.
Escape Phrase 70 Jimothy: I don't know. What should we do now? I can't think straight... feels like I've been awake for a week. / Tsamantha: You need COFFEE! / Jimothy: Of course! And if Escalavator still works there, we can press him for some exposition! / [[Tsamantha opens the door to find benday halftone dots swarming outside.]] / Tsamantha: Uh... we'll need an umbrella.
Escape Phrase 71 [[Jimothy is menacing Escalavator, at la ckafybarja.]] / Escalavator: Cardigan, you can't just break into my villa this way. That violates all sorts of laws and... / Jimothy: I haven't been a cop for a long time. Besides, this is Mexico.
Escape Phrase 72 Escalavator: She promised me she'd keep me safe; she told me about you two and how you were trying to destroy our world. She showed me how to escape into her... place, back there. / Jimothy: Why would Tsam's mom say that? Why would she do that for you? / Escalavator: She's not Tsam's mom. No, I mean she's not JUST her mom. She's allmother and allfather. That's why she made the third door, there, as the way into her home.
Escape Phrase 73 Escalavator: Each of the Powers has a space Beyond that is safe from your influence. Q built his behind a set of Walls. H built hers behind the Third Door. L built his behind a Socket. I don't know where the last space is. / Jimothy: A socket? Is that code for something? The other places make sense... but we've been in them, so... Anyway, where are they? What sort of place is the Beyond? / Escalavator: It's a space outside the Narrative, that's what she told me. Jimothy, you choose the frame the Narrative takes on. / Tsamantha: And my power controls what is inside the frame? / Escalavator: Yes, exactly. Together the two of you define the entire universe. / Jimothy: So then how are we destroying it? / Escalavator: You... you weren't ever supposed to know who you were. Q thought it would expedite things, or that it was clever. He was a fool.

Escape Phrase 74 Escalavator: The originals, the Fantastic Four, the fundamental forces, they’re not people, and they're not gods like a Creator. They're living avatars of a transcendental organizational scheme. Our world is, like any world, described perfectly as the tension between fact and faith. The four make up a rubric of total meaning that is both superimposed and underlying. They are the manifestation of the impossible answer to the Only Stupid Question: "Why?" / Escalavator: You two, H told me, are similar. You are manifestations of a post hoc rationalization, a method of explaining all situation and phenomenon. The difference between 2 and 4 is not just your power, it's that you 2 are subconcious emergent properties that are inherent and undirected. / Escalavator: The Creator who placed us all in his work is another thing altogether. Q claimed to have been formed in His image, for various reasons and with various justifications. Regardless, His creation is the 4 and the world they define; the 2 are not part of the Work, not intentionally. Q disagreed and hoped to raise himself to the level of the Creator by drawing the 2 into you, Jimothy, and you, Tsamantha, breathing life into what was previously dumb technique. / Escalavator: The problem is that the 2 are artless, or at least not inherently a creative force, seeing as they are purely descriptive (whereas the 4 define a dynamic and repsonsive system). As you two refine your powers, gain strength, and consolidate your influence on this world, the Intent of the work fades and the Work itself becomes irrelevant. / Lichtenstein: SILENCE!!
Escape Phrase 75 Lichtenstein: SILENCE!! / <> / Jimothy: How... how did we get BACK here?
Escape Phrase 76 <> / Jimothy: How... how did we get BACK here? / Tsamantha: I don't KNOW!! / <> / Jimothy: There's got to be an answer... SOMEHOW!!
Escape Phrase 77 Jimothy: Wow, uh... what's going on here? / Tsamantha: I don't know! It's not me... and I can't control it, to boot. / Narration: Suddenly... !! / Thomis: YOU! / Jimothy: Thom! What's going on? / Thomis: You're not WELCOME here! / Lichtenstein: Let him BE, Thomis... It's time for CLASS... to BEGIN!!

Cast on 18, knit in the loose end, seven rows... Make a nice tube... put it on the same needles... cast on 18 with scrap yarn, knit seven rows... make a nice tube... put it on the same needles... / Tsamantha: Cast on 18, knit in the loose end, seven rows, knit along the three small tubes starting with the biggest, Slip slip knit at the start of a tube, knit two together at the end of a tube. knit down and down, one and one, one and two, one and three, one and four, one and five... / Tsamantha: ...FOUR AND THIRTY, FOUR AND THIRTY-ONE, FOUR AND THIRTY-TWO, FOUR AND THIRTY-THREE, FOUR AND THIRTY-FOUR, FOUR AND THIRTY-FIVE, FOUR AND THIRTY-SIX, FOUR AND THIRTY-SEVEN, FOUR AND THIRTY-EIGHT... / Tsamantha: ...THIRTEEN AND TWENTY-ONE, THIRTEEN AND TWENTY-TWO, THIRTEEN AND TWENTY-THREE, THIRTEEN AND TWENTY-FOUR, THIRTEEN AND TWENTY-FIVE, THIRTEEN AND TWENTY-SIX, THIRTEEN AND TWENTY-SEVEN, THIRTEEN AND TWENTY-EIGHT, THIRTEEN AND TWENTY... ... whoops... THIRTEEN AND TWENTY-EIGHT, THIRTEEN AND / TWENTY-NINE... / Tsamantha: TWENTY AND FIFTY-SIX, TWENTY AND FIFTY-SEVEN, TWENTY AND FIFTY-eight! Join on the big ring, with the same KNIT TWO TOGETHER AND SLIP SLIP KNIT. KNIT TWO ROUNDS, THEN DO A SLIP SLIP KNIT ON ONE SIDE AND A KNIT TWO TOGETHER ON THE OTHER where the join was. They've SPREAD everywhere!! / Jimothy: Tsam! WHY can't you CONTROL them?!
Escape Phrase 79 Tsamantha, in a painting: Jimothy!! HELP ME!! / Jimothy: I'm TRYING to, Tsam!! / Jimothy: Here goes NOTHING... !! GNNNNNNN! / Jimothy: Gnn!! Ha! I did it!
Escape Phrase 80 [[The dialogue appears on a piece of paper held in a pair of hands.]] / Jimothy: There, I think we'll be safe hiding here. / Tsamantha: Where ARE we? My power has no effect here, either! / Jimothy: I think that's because you're not used to the medium. / Tsamantha: Medium? / Jimothy: I superimposed us on a memory of a class handout. I think we're just being represented as text right now. / Tsamantha: So we can hide here. But what can we do to stop L?

Escape Phrase 81 Tsamantha: Is this really going to work? / Jimothy: I HOPE so... / Jimothy: ... if this works like it should, any minute now he'll be gone for good. / Tsamantha: But look - he's still right there! / Jimothy: See? There he goes! / Tsamantha: Wow... / [[In the middle of the page is another comic.]] / Narrator: Meanwhile, in an ALTERNATE DIMENSION... / L: NO! I'm "out of the picture"... / L: I didn't KNOW he could DO THAT... / L: TRAPPED in the comic book equivalent of a DIGRESSIONARRY SIDEBAR COMMENTARY. / L: DOOMED for ALL TIME to exist as a mere FOOTNOTE! / L: At least it's CATERED.
Escape Phrase 82 Jimothy: Another job well done! / Tsamantha: Yeah, I don't know... why are we doing this, anyway? / Jimothy: Huh? / Tsamantha: It just seems so arbitrary and useless... What does this conflict accomplish, and what do we... hope... why... uh... / Jimothy: What's up? / Tsamantha: Something... there's something still not right about this place.
Escape Phrase 83 [[Tsamantha pulls at the wall, and it is shewn to be a facade.]] / Tsamantha: Oh weird / Jimothy: It's the same over here, too... / [[The walls beyond tip also.]] / Tsamantha: Even THESE walls are fake! / <> / [[Beyond, a dark grassy field.]] / <> / Tsamantha: Huh!
Escape Phrase 84 Tsamantha: I think THIS wall is real... / Jimothy: And there's a door! / [[The door is ajar, Jimothy opened it. They peer in and all they can see is light glinting off of something... ominous.]] / [[Policeworms pour out through the door!]] / Police: YOU'RE UNDER ARREST!!
Escape Phrase 85 [[Jimothy and Tsamantha are in jail. The bars sit in front of all the art and dialogue, obscuring it.]] / Tsamantha: So what are we going to do now? / Jimothy: I really don't know. / Jimothy: I can't DO anything about these BARS. / [[The next speech bubble is in front of the bars.]] / Jimothy: Except this. / Tsamantha: Should I try something? / Jimothy: It couldn't hurt!
