[[The shopkeep's hand closes over an empty spot. He looks distraught.]]

Shopkeep: My produce...

[[Laurent strolls towards the stand, whistling.]] [[Laurent points at some food on the stand, while the merchant watches her, unamused.]] Laurent: Excuse me, how much is this? Shopkeep: More than you can afford, lass. [[Split panel of Laurent is shown, on the one hand grimacing and on the other smiling politely.]] Laurent (thinking): Lass my ass. I hpe Chiro gets him good. [[Laurent leans down, placing a hand on Chiro's shoulder. Chiro is smacking a fist into his palm and smiling.]]

Laurent: So, are you ready?

Chiro: You bet. I'm up this time, right?

Laurent: Yep!

[[Laurent squints.]]
Laurent: Let's go!

[[Laurent strolls towards the stand, whistling.]]

[[Laurent points at some food on the stand, while the merchant watches her, unamused.]]

Laurent: Excuse me, how much is this?

Shopkeep: More than you can afford, lass.

[[Split panel of Laurent is shown, on the one hand grimacing and on the other smiling politely.]]

Laurent (thinking): Lass my ass. I hpe Chiro gets him good.

Laurent: What about that?

[[The merchant growls and points at Laurent, who is holding a fruit.]]

Shopkeep: Get your filthy fingers off of that right now! You're scaring away my customers!

Laurent: What if I am a customer, huh?
